There is no better way to celebrate the summer season than enjoying a cold drink on the patio with your best buds. Fortunately for you, Kingstonians, this city is packed full of some of the best patios around. Everything you could ask for - a high-top view of the city, sangria by the waterfront, pub grub in the heart of downtown! Kingston has everything you're going to need. So sit back, relax, and take in all that this summer has to offer!

Kingston Brewing Company

As Ontario's oldest brew pub, established in 1986, the Kingston Brewing Company is a must for this summer! Not only do they make many of their own beers, wine, and ciders, they also have TWO patios for you to soak up the sun this summer. If that's not enough, you'll experience some of the best pub food in town. Fun fact: this place also used be to an old telegraph office! Interested yet? Grab your friends, and head down to 34 Clarence St. by the water to check it out! Look for the classic old truck out parked out front, and experience the casual, fun vibe for yourself.

Tir Na Nog

Looking for more places with a waterfront view? Try the wraparound patio at the Nog! This massive patio is across the the street from Kingston Brewing Company, making it the ideal pub-crawl location. With a beautiful waterfront view, this patio has tons of space for you and your pals. Enjoy some pub grub and a variety of local brews any day of the week. But don't worry, this Irish pub will always have Guinness on tap! (When you're done, make sure to head across the street to Confederation park and snag a pic in the KINGSTON sign!)

Red House

The Iron Duke

The Iron Duke of Wellington is a classic pub and patio, featuring some of the best creative lunch and dinner specials around. Plus, starting June 21st, they're even bringing back some of their favourite dishes from past menus for Throwback Thursdays! This cozy patio, located just off Princess, at 207 Wellington St, is the perfect place to grab a drink and a bite with family or friends, and sip your summer away.

Jack Astor's

Did someone say rooftop patio? The Jack Astor's you know and love has gone above and beyond in Kingston, featuring one of the few rooftop patios in the city. Located across from Market Square, enter Jack's from the main level and hop in the elevator (or take the stairs if you're feeling ambitious) up to the roof. Trust us, you won't regret it. The view, the drinks, the food and some sweet mist-machines will keep you cool in the sun, making this patio one you CAN'T MISS.

Juniper Cafe

"We make good coffee and fine food in a modern setting with an amazing view." We couldn't have explained it any better than they already did. Located in the Tett Centre on Lake Ontario, Juniper Cafe is just what you need for a peaceful afternoon in the sun. Embracing string lights, sleek industrial tables on the patio, and plenty of indoor seating, Juniper brings local foods, wine, and beer into a eclectic atmosphere. Battery Bistro

This contemporary, outdoor restaurant sits high on the hill at Fort Henry, overlooking the city and Lake Ontario. In fact, this is Kingston's largest outdoor patio! Hosting a variety of local produce and brews, this is a prime location to enjoy lunch under the sun, with the cool breeze off the lake, in a laid back vibe. Wolfe Island Grill

You can escape Kingston for the day, taking the short ferry ride from downtown over to Wolfe Island. The first stop you'll need to make will be the beautiful patio at the Wolfe Island Grill, overlooking Lake Ontario. Sit back with a brew in hand, or order something fresh from their menu. Just remember: you're on island time here! Plan your stay at the grill around the ferry times.
